Void Formers made from Expanded Polystyrene (EPS) are used extensively throughout the civil engineering profession for major works such as motorways, bridge construction, underpasses, shopping centres, foundations and embankments. They can be used for a variety of void forming applications for the formation, shaping and positioning of openings to reduce the weight of concrete structures (but not the strength), or alternatively can be used for temporary applications as part of a formwork system. Any shape, size or profile can be manufactured with relatively short lead times, in a range of compressive strengths to meet the loading requirements of the application. Some applications: sound insulation for highway sides; bridges core; roof hourdi blocks; MEP back up for cables/pipes/service tunnels/electrical works
- Very cost effective solution.
- Lightweight and easy to handle.
- Flame retardant version available.
- EPS is environmentally friendly: no CFC’s / no HCFC’s / ozone favorable / 100% recyclable.
